icedteainthebag gave me the prompt "enthusiasm." I went with the historical usage the word which was just too perfect for Laura not to use it.

Laura has never been particularly religious and would have described herself as agnostic if asked before now. Her knowledge of the Sacred Scrolls is rudimentary, just enough to appreciate the scriptures' role in shaping Colonial culture.

As Elosha reads the Book of Pythia to her, she is overwhelmed. The passages describe her experiences with terrifying preciseness, too much to be coincidence.

And yet, though it scares her, there's a comfort in it too. What's happening to her has a reason. She has a purpose greater than herself.

She is a vessel to the gods. Her destiny has already been written.

"Gaeta mentioned some of Colonial One's foodstocks went missing," Bill noted with amusement as he stared at the well-stocked picnic basket on Laura's table.

"Really? In that case, we may have to enjoy this indoors." She nibbled on a berry with a smirk.

He chuckled. "How'd you manage to get this off Colonial One without being noticed anyway?"

Remembering her pointless meeting with Baltar and how easy it was to swipe the basket from his desk when she left after he'd become distracted by a buxom member of his staff, she muttered, "Well, I am smarter than the average president."

This is a fantastic if somewhat foolish idea, Laura thinks as the press of Adama's body against hers sends pleasurable ripples through her body. It's the best she's felt in a long time, though, so she doesn't care.

In the coming months, she wants to have a positive moment to remember out of this miserable day. Legs wrapping tighter around his waist, she channels her frustrations -- the cancer, Richard, a doomed career -- into matching the steady, firm thrusts of his hips.

When her orgasm courses through her, she almost regrets that they'll never see each other again after today.

In truth, he looked like a grumpy old man, even in calmer moments when he wasn't hungry, tired, or needing a diaper changed.

Like most babies, he wasn't that pretty.

They grinned. It didn't matter.

He had ten little fingers, ten little toes, a head of surprisingly thick, dark, downy hair, and clean bill of health. That was all they needed. As far as they were concerned, their baby was perfect.

Tony hurried into the living room, startled by the outburst. Angela sat on the sofa with her hand clutched to her chest and a grimace contorting her face. He rushed to her, panicked.

"Angela! You okay?"

She pouted and held out her hand for him to inspect.

"I broke my nail."

Relief washed over him. "Oh, is that all?"

"It really hurt!"

Offended, she tried to yank her hand from his but he grasped her hand tighter. Bringing it to his lips, he kissed the injured finger.

"All better?" he whispered.

"All better," she answered, breathless but smiling now.

She flexes and tilts her hand so that the diamond catches the light and sparkles.

Tony offered to "upgrade" her ring for their fifteenth anniversary. She refused. The one she already has is perfect.
